I consider that the expansion of this project will have a detrimental effect on the surrounding population, and local infrastructure. The centre is located at the tip of the peninsula, and can only be accessed via three minor roads. Due to the residential nature of the surrounding area, there isn’t the necessary parking that will be required for the increase in both staff and visitors alike; problems have already occurred with residential roads being jammed with the developers' cars and vans... I'm very concerned for the future of Gosport. I wish to object to phase 2, 600 beds is too much for the infrastructure of Hasal. I've lived in Gosport for 40 years and we're a small naval town with amzing local history. I'm worried that the close residents will be affected by noise, lighting and added traffic pollution. The risk of disruption, pressure on local infrastructure and safeguarding issues to the local community is greatly increased in a small confined area. Gosport is only small. Secrets are being kept from us which is wrong. There are no guarantees the inmates would be permanently inside. We do not want them let out in public. It is not acceptable to have this building on the Gosport peninsula. These men will only be returned if their country of origin will accept them and we all know that will not happen. The construction work is already causing chaos and massive disruption to Gosport and Alverstoke. Gosport is a peninsula town is not a large town. Gosport has limited roads on and off the peninsula, none of which were ever built to cope with the heavy construction traffic. Having attended the first briefing on this project at SBGC where we were briefed by Home Office officials and security experts on both the buildings the security of inmates and the safety of the local population. It does appear now that we were lied too, the size of the project is much bigger than planned including land grab for a new car park, another story has been added to the main buildings, and now we are told up to 600 inmates who could be released into the local community on bail! We overlook the site and have no issues with the original proposal, but the extra accommodation is a step too far and not in keeping with the environment or the area. It will affect our view from our house and affect its value. The work still o far has been sympathetic to the grade 2 listed buildings and the Haslar site. I object to the plans submitted to GBC by the Home Office for the following reasons: Transport Links: 1. Adding to the proposed traffic movements of 700 plus per day from the IRC. I totally object to this plan and all of additional extra plans , especially building 3 story buildings as this would have a massive detrimental effect on surrounding homes as these would be seen from miles away. Gosport is a peninsula within a peninsula and can not handle this additional stress to its already fragile infrastructure and it would put a great strain on local housing that would be over towered by these buildings. This plan must never be excepted .

This is an extensive expansion on the original planned capacity. We are a small town which is already stretched in terms of infrastructure. There is limited access to the site along residential roads. It is unacceptable to put extra pressure on the town. Local residents will be facing many more years of construction disruption and property values will be affected due to the drop in desirability.

I'm against this development intended for illegal immigrants removal, as these people are unknown, alien people, the country has no information on these strangers, we know nothing about who they are, I'm scared to have this in my local community, near my family, that UK know nothing about. This is not acceptable, for the residents of Gosport, or for any legal, national person in this country. We should not be housing illegal immigrants full stop, we should stop them getting in to the country, or if they get in, they should be sent straight back, no questions asked!!! Yes I would like to attend. My own personal reflection on this development would be to ask why is our community only being asked to comment on our objections to a migrant camp being forced onto our community at this late stage when clearly work is near completion and any objections our community will have will obviously only be paid lip service to. The home office has already over ridden any concerns and objections we have.

Safety of my children being up the road from their school makes me uncomfortable and worried about their safety. We lived in Bournemouth for a while and that isn’t a safe place anymore with immigrants, please don’t let Gosport turn into an unsafe place like Bournemouth!

I acknowledge there must a Immigration Removal Centre. Whether be in Gosport or anywhere else. However I must make a comment on link roads to the planned Immigration Removal Centre in Gosport. The main link into Gosport is the A32 with minor routes linking Haslar to A32. At Busy times of the working day the A32 and link roads can get very congested sometimes causing long delays especially when there is a traffic incident.
