Objection to the increased size of the development due to the adverse impact on our community. Road safety - Multiple hazards caused by the traffic - magnified by being a country lane at one end with no public path, and residential road at the other. Impact on local Utilities I.e. increased strain on already failing drainage network. Very well publicised issues with Southern Water already having to dump sewerage into the Solent due to failing infrastructure. Impact on close by conservation area and being in sightline of listed heritage buildings. Lack of local facilities to deal with increased visitors. I remember well the heartbroken family members that used to travel to Gosport just to be near their loved ones held at the IRC. They had no where to go. No where affordable to stay, with Gosport’s small number of hotels and B&Bs. They were often left with no choice but to beg on the high street. Grave concern on the well being of our friends and near neighbours whose properties are close to the centre. The increased size will have an even bigger detrimental impact on them financially, emotionally, and cause a strain on mental health. My husband and I would like to attend a hearing.
