We are the homeowners of ████████████.we back directly onto the sea side of the playing fields of the immigration centre. We are very disappointed that the second phase of the immigration centre didn’t go through normal planning process led by Gosport borough council, instead the crown development process have the decision on this! We the residents of fort road, the people that will be directly affected have had no say or regard to our positions in this the biggest immigration removal centre in Europe! Gosport is a small town and hasn’t the infrastructure to cope with the extra strain on health care, travelling extra staffing day and night, extra traffic when we are already struggling with these things, we are trying to claw back tourism with all the new proposals that are going on in the town, we can’t cope with anymore negatives. This is not good for the residents, the town and very worrying for security reasons, we don’t have a police station, a train station, or a hospital that is open 24/7, how are we going to be able to cope with riots, escapees, serious illness within the centre of staff or inmates? QA hospital is always at capacity, our dr’s dentists and clinics can’t cope with the numbers already, let alone more and more people. How do they propose to move the inmates around and to and from airports, there is no more room in a residential area for more buses and coaches, and also the workers cars and vans parking all night as they go in for their shifts. The whole lot will be lit up with security lighting shining into our bedroom windows, noise night and day from the inmates, shouting and swearing over the fences that lead directly into our gardens, the inmates won’t be quiet, they will be angry, frustrated, and trying to escape. Where does this leave us, our lives shattered by the total disregard for our quality of life, our peace and quiet and the financial losses of the plummeting house prices, where is our compensation for all of this being forced upon us ( without any representation) we can’t even sell up and leave this area now. Thanks for ruining our lives.
