Having attended the first briefing on this project at SBGC where we were briefed by Home Office officials and security experts on both the buildings the security of inmates and the safety of the local population. It does appear now that we were lied too, the size of the project is much bigger than planned including land grab for a new car park, another story has been added to the main buildings, and now we are told up to 600 inmates who could be released into the local community on bail! All this without further consultation. This is not just an inconvenience it is extremely worrying, I feel as if we’ve been lied to by the Government and our local council has been run roughshod over. I would attend a hearing!
