As a very nearby resident Iust express my concerns for a number of reasons which are belows however I must state my first objection is to how this has been handled by the government as a whole. Absolutely disgusting to overall a local government and ignore any of it's reasons fiest and foremost is an appalling mindest and frankly it's one of selfishness. The other concerns I believe are legitimate, the first of many reasons is safety for not only my family but other local residents also. With many of the selected persons going to be located at the detention centre for what we know nationwide is that how they approach the younger ladies within our communities with no regard for any intent apart from their own selfish acts, as a proud parent to an under 18 year old daughter I am now extremely fearful for safety among many others. The impact it's having on local residents os terrible, a few friends and residents nearby have already put their property on the housing market because of the detention centre being built, they feel unsafe and now they feel that they will be no longer safe in their homes and would rather move from their family homes to another one further afield. To.feel like you have been forced to move for reasons of safety is terrifying, with no local government to speak for us how would this ever be heard? I now fear for my business, as an electrical contractor based in this area and the increase of both tool and vehicle thefts something like this being constructed nearby has a massive safety impact on the local community. The roads surrounding the immigration centre as well as the newly built Haslar Homes area are not capable of the extra traffic, parking and overall stress on our already worsening roads, if you don't believe the roads are bad I emplore you to look at Haslar Road itself, it's abysmal. The housing market in this area has taken a turn for the worse and the new immigration has and is having a negative impact on our homes, my home value since the immigration centre being built has lost value by 9%. That's alot of a negative impact. My last real.concern is that our town is a seaside town, a seaside town that has people travel from all over to stay on holiday breaks, with a lack of funds to the Main high street to rejuvenate the area I fear we will also lose revenue from tourism because of this centre and its additional areas being constructed. The overall feeling from myself as well as many residents is that our safety has been ignored and over ruled, our concerns are irrelevant and it's a case of shut up and get on with it because the government will do what they want rather than whats best for its residents. Truly disgusting thoughts and process to this centre.
