I strongly object to the “Phase 2” expansion of the Haslar Immigration Removal Centre proposed at Crown Development Application CROWN/2026/0000005. I consider that the expansion of this project will have a detrimental effect on the surrounding population, and local infrastructure. The centre is located at the tip of the peninsula, and can only be accessed via three minor roads. Due to the residential nature of the surrounding area, there isn’t the necessary parking that will be required for the increase in both staff and visitors alike; problems have already occurred with residential roads being jammed with the developers' cars and vans... I object to the significant increase in housing at Haslar IRC and subsequent extensive increase in the size of the building without appropriate engagement with the local community. I'm very concerned for the future of Gosport. I wish to object to phase 2, 600 beds is too much for the infrastructure of Hasal. I've lived in Gosport for 40 years and we're a small naval town with amzing local history. I'm worried that the close residents will be affected by noise, lighting and added traffic pollution. I am totally against this planning application. 1. The Haslar Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) has a troubled history, highlighted by the 2011 HM Inspectorate of Prisons report, which labeled it as the "worst accommodation in the immigration estate." I live adjacent to this proposed development and whilst I didnt object strongly to the first phase of accommodating 130 young men I strongly object to the not only increase in people to 600 young men but the significant over development of this facility to three new three storey buildings!! It's a disgusting overdevelopment on a site with poor vehicular access, there are many other reasons I call this an overdevelopment which I will gladly voice in person or publicly. The new Prime Minister is very keen to devolve decisions, processes and politics away from Westminster and empower greater “local” influence and decisions. Objection to the increased size of the development due to the adverse impact on our community. Road safety - Multiple hazards caused by the traffic - magnified by being a country lane at one end with no public path, and residential road at the other. As a local resident of Gosport I feel the increase from 130 to 600 migrants is pushing the limits of our small community too far. The risk of disruption, pressure on local infrastructure and safeguarding issues to the local community is greatly increased in a small confined area. The much smaller initial proposal feels more in keeping with the local area and infrastructure.

I feel that making these changes to the imagination centre we are opening gosport up to more crime, as the inmates will not be tagged so no one knows where they go, as they can come and go as they please, most of them are here illegally which is a crime, we should not help or support them, 99% are men, this will bring dangerous situations to are younger generations, mainly young girls its not safe.

The infrastructure is not in place and the size and height would not in keeping with the area and the surrounding houses. Gosport is only small. Secrets are being kept from us which is wrong. There are no guarantees the inmates would be permanently inside. We do not want them let out in public. The proposed buildings will be too high and not give security to residents of houses. Traffic in our area is bad at all times without the proposed number of journeys to be made. The car park was bought from the council in secret. Tell us the truth.

It is not acceptable to have this building on the Gosport peninsula. These men will only be returned if their country of origin will accept them and we all know that will not happen. Plus we all know that you will go ahead with the building of the Imigration centre because you do what you want to do and you do not regard the publics concerns only the welfare of those who will be in the centre. I’m objecting to the proposed phase of building the three story buildings at Haslar Immigration centre. These will be out of character in a residential area. The increase in traffic to and from the centre will add additional pressure on a very congested road system. The siting of such a centre is ill thought out for a small town situated on a peninsula.

The construction work is already causing chaos and massive disruption to Gosport and Alverstoke. Gosport is a peninsula town is not a large town. Gosport has limited roads on and off the peninsula, none of which were ever built to cope with the heavy construction traffic.
