To whom it may concern, To keep the immigration unit open let alone expand it is an absolute disgrace from the government, you get the final decision yet you are not the ones living right next to the place where the immigrants who don't abide by our rules. I would like to register my objection to the expansion of Haslar Immigration Removal Centre. My reasons are as follows There is significant uncertainty regarding the impacts upon the locality due to the heavily redacted nature of the documents and drawings provided. I would like to strongly object to this planning application for the following reasons: Local Infrastructure.. The huge increase in the proposed number of inmates that this application is proposing will obviously greatly increase the number of traffic movements on the peninsula. Having attended the first briefing on this project at SBGC where we were briefed by Home Office officials and security experts on both the buildings the security of inmates and the safety of the local population. It does appear now that we were lied too, the size of the project is much bigger than planned including land grab for a new car park, another story has been added to the main buildings, and now we are told up to 600 inmates who could be released into the local community on bail! We overlook the site and have no issues with the original proposal, but the extra accommodation is a step too far and not in keeping with the environment or the area. It will affect our view from our house and affect its value. The work still o far has been sympathetic to the grade 2 listed buildings and the Haslar site. The new blocks will be an eyesore and not in keeping with what we are expected to adhere to with listed building regulations.

My objections are as follows 1) I live quite close to Haslar and building 3 storey buildings could possibly impede on my view over the Solent and Isle of Wight. 2) There a lot of vulnerable residents who worry about their safety for example escaping from the detention centre. 3) Its not right that the Government have imposed this on us without a fair and reasonable debate on how this will impact our town. I wish to register my objection to the Phase 2 proposals for Haslar Immigration Removal Centre. My objections concern: The scale of the proposed development to triple its capacity without first assessing if Phase 1 of the development and whether it will adequately deliver the facility required. We were led to believe that the Haslar Immigration centre was for the detention of illegal immigrants prior to their removal. However it has now been divulged that detainees could be released on bail !! No information has been provided as to where the bailed person will go, whether they'll be collected and transported out of the area or if groups of young men could be wandering about gosport when we have no knowledge of their background and any previous criminal activity. I do not support this. The previous role was a removal centre. This will now be home to 300 males with access to every where. This is a dangerous situation for Gosport

I object to the plans submitted to GBC by the Home Office for the following reasons: Transport Links: 1. Adding to the proposed traffic movements of 700 plus per day from the IRC. There are 1200 new homes already in progress in Haslar Hospital redevelopment, which is half a mile from the IRC. Also within 1 mile of the IRC there are 3 other sites for housing redevelopment. Gosport Borough is a small town that already struggles to provide employment opportunities for the local residents of Gosport. It struggles to provide fundamental health, social care and other services to the residents of Gosport. Gosport is a very small town on a peninsula served by already very overcrowded roads and with little public transportation. Any increase of traffic to and from the Haslar site will add to traffic problems. The building works on the site have already caused two years of noise caused by the prolonged building works on the site and has had an impact on housing prices locally. The addition of this side effects the whole community. U have yet to see evidence that this area will be tightly controlled. As this will be housing people waiting to be deported and known criminals I have family in the area and fear for their safety. This has not been up for public consultation there has been very little information on the impact statement on the area.

I object to illegal immigrants being housed in my local area for several reasons: the housing should be for local people, the obvious cost to the tax payers, the problems already facing our community with doctors' surgeries etc. Why should the British tax payers be paying for illegal immigrants and get such priority over local people?
