I’ve lived in Gosport Hampshire for 60 years and simply don’t want this removal centre especially adding it to 600 beds . It completely destroys the whole landscape of the area . No - to 600 inmates.

I purchased my property knowing that the site had historically operated as such, and I recognise that facilities of this nature have an important role. I object strongly to the expansion of the IRC in Fort Road, Gosport Hampshire. The planned development has expanded exponentially since its original use as an immigration centre. Gosport itself is a peninsula with years of traffic issues due to the layout of the borough. The IRC is situated in a peninsula within a peninsula and accessed by three pinch points. The site should never of been expanded, Gosport cannot take the extreme extension, waste , water roads ( which are already struggling especially the access in and out of Gosport. The Fareham sewage system is already struggling with the new homes being erected let alone the hundreds that are supposedly going to be housed . The next is security , keeping the immigrants inside, no day release and threat by some who are known to be violent ie reason they are being deported

The car park purchased from the council isn’t large enough for all the workers and visitors. Cars will end up clogging residential streets.

The original proposal for 130 beds was exactly what the site was designed for. To increase to 600 beds with 3 storey high accommodation is not suitable for the location. Those living on Fort Road, will have their privacy ruined, their homes will drop in value and their lives changed for the worse. This is after the years of continuous building, noise pollution and increased traffic to bring the site up to what is proposed. Utterly shocking decision by central government. The hole idea of putting a I.R.C.in such a congested area is beyond me before we start getting into the way it will effect the local area and the residents. The three storey buildings that are planned and were not on the original application are completely out of contextual harmony. My objections to phase two of the Haslar IRC are as follows; There is no other IRC of this size in such very close proximity, in fact actually next door, to residents any where else in the country. Therefore stating facts that there has been no noise disturbance, security breaches, vehicle disturbances to residents, light pollution, inconsiderate vehicle parking, obtrusion of residents privacy etc can not be stated as fact. there is no precedent to base this on. The roads and infrastructure in our area is already overloaded and can't take the extra traffic from either the construction or the running of the centre If the government saw through thier promises on immigration , this Centre won't be needed anyway

I would like to attend a hearing. I am a resident of a property within 500m of the HIRC development. I have considerable concerns on the proposed development from the inevitable impact on both the local community and from a personal perspective. Regularly cycle in the Haslar area to get to Portsmouth from Lee on the Solent The access roads are narrow, this is in a residential area, bringing in and taking out this number of detainees with the increased number of staff to manage the centre will have a negative impact on the roads in the area Unless it has own health care staff and centre this many people requiring healthcare will impact on Queen Alexandra hospital which can’t cope with existing population

I strongly object to the proposed Immigration Removal Centre at Haslar. I believe this development is inappropriate for our community and will have a detrimental impact on residents’ sense of safety, place additional pressure on local policing and public services, and change the character of the area. The proposal has not demonstrated that the existing infrastructure and security arrangements are sufficient to mitigate these concerns, and I therefore urge the application to be refused.

I appose these new plans as it is going to bring so much negativity to our town we love. It is not to be now for negative reasons. Also the poor people this is directly effecting their property and fear for their safety in their own homes

This will impact the local area in a number of detrimental ways. 1. Noise pollution - arrivals and departures at all hours. At any point there may be over 1000 people in the facility and that alone will increase noise. 2. Light pollution - the pure scale of the buildings will affect the light. I strongly object to the increase in occupant capacity . I think it will effect the surrounding area, noise , traffic and house prices, which will effect me as I live very near the site . As a local resident I object most strongly to the development of the Haslar Immigration Centre. Reasons include: • Influx of more people which Gosport cannot support. • The site and scale of this development is not in keeping with the historic area. • Severe traffic congestion on an already congested peninsular. • Pressure on local NHS facilities. This application far exceeds what has been agreed by the Gosport Council who are elected by the local people we the Gosport people are agai st this establishment which is trapped on a very small inlet on an inlet with one two ways out by road which is already over populated.
