Objection to the Proposed Expansion of the IRC Building I wish to formally object to the proposed expansion of the IRC building. Firstly, I believe the proposed increase in capacity is far too great and is not something that has the support of many people within our local community. An expansion of this scale would place significant additional pressure on the surrounding area and fundamentally change the character of our neighbourhood. Secondly, I strongly object to the proposal to increase the building from a single-storey structure to a multi-storey development. When many of us purchased our homes, we did so with the understanding of the existing surroundings and the impact that nearby buildings would have. A multi-storey building would have a detrimental effect on neighbouring properties, including the loss of views, an increased sense of overlooking, and a significant change to the visual appearance of the area. Residents have invested heavily in their homes in a community where property values are already high. It is unreasonable for such a substantial development to alter the environment that homeowners bought into without proper regard for the impact on neighbouring residents. For these reasons, I object to both the scale of the proposed increase in numbers and the proposed multi-storey expansion, and I respectfully ask that these aspects of the application be reconsidered.
