I strongly object to the proposed Immigration Removal Centre at Haslar. I believe this development is inappropriate for our community and will have a detrimental impact on residents’ sense of safety, place additional pressure on local policing and public services, and change the character of the area. The proposal has not demonstrated that the existing infrastructure and security arrangements are sufficient to mitigate these concerns, and I therefore urge the application to be refused.
