This application fails to demonstrate grounds sufficient to waive Green Belt protections. Furthermore, it will be seriously detrimental to the quality of life of many people in the local area, knowing that people are detained in such a facility.

I oppose the expansion of Campsfield IRC. The detention and deportation of people who are seeking asylum and refugee affects me. I am a citizen of the country, I have rights and responsibilities. I feel very ashamed that vulnerable frightened people are not treated with kindness and compassion. How can this be happening in what was a civilised country. I am opposed to the proposed expansion of the Campsfield House IRC for a number of reasons. Generally I think IRC’s are both uneconomic and inhumane. They are uneconomic because many people detained are released back to into the community within a short period so there was no point detaining them.
