The size of the structure,not fair on local residents. Ho many people will it hold and will they be male female and children? Will it house people that have been in prison for sexual or violent crimes ? What company will be in charge of security. Will these persons be confined and not free to leave the unit ? Is there a guarantee that it will never become an open facility.

The infrastructure of Gosport is very poor as it is so extra pressure on these services will be intolerable. The poor people who live on Fort Road will look out on a three storey building which will be lite all night. The original proposal was tolerable the new proposals are not.

Yes I wish to attend a hearing, if The Crown allows? My town, and where this building stands is in a small peninsula, and cannot sustain the traffic, noise to residents, and pressure on all our services doctors , hospitals that are barely able to keep on top for us, that live here, and pay our dues. Not to mention the cost of this? What about the surveillance of the people there and the has there been any consideration of the safety of the surrounding population? I have grandchildren living there who have just begun making their own lives and I am very worried regarding their safety when being out on their own. I oppose the home office plan to increase the height of the new buildings at Haslar IRC. The original plan was for a substantially lower building which local people had accepted. It seems the government have totally ignored the wishes of local residents. I understand the need for the facility, but the increase in size and capacity seems inconsiderate and badly planned. This is not fair on us residents of gosport. Moving the goal posts without our input is disgraceful, we dont want the IRC at all, let alone its expansion done behind our backs. The government and home office are supposed to represent and work in the interests of the British public. This is not a 28 day stay location thats clear with the level of facilities it will have. The proposal of the extension of this immigration centre is of great concern to myself and local residents. Firstly the impact on local nhs services it is difficult as a local trying to get a doctors appointment and nhs dentists that we have already have full books with waiting lists. Raising concerns over the proposals for phase 2 for the Haslar Immigration Removal Centre. Living very local to the IRC I am concerned over the construction of the building to reach 3 stories. I object to this development as the 160 bed removal centre is now 600. Residents were not consulted on the expansion. The area can not facilitate this amount of traffic in the area. Public spaces have been commandeered without approval from residents. Homes in the local area will be overlooked and their value decreased because of this monstrosity. The area will be at risk from detainees escaping from the facility as they do from prisons.

Why haven't local people been consulted on the expansion of the IRC? The community around Fort Road and Clayhall Road is experiencing extreme building at the moment and we do not need further pressure on an already overstretched infrastructure.

I object to the scale of the proposed detention centre and feel proper considerations have not been given to alternatives. The proposal would impact the natural environment and eco systems already in the balance with it's concreted area including extra traffic, parking etc as well as public access to the coast. I feel strongly that I need to oppose this proposal, not because I am a racist spitting bile, but because I do not believe that Gosport - as a town, can take this influx. I believe that, should this proposal go through, it will overtake the town. We are a small community, many of us old or elderly and struggling within the existing framework.
