The proposal of the extension of this immigration centre is of great concern to myself and local residents. Firstly the impact on local nhs services it is difficult as a local trying to get a doctors appointment and nhs dentists that we have already have full books with waiting lists. Living locally the impact of daily traffic in and out of town will make car travel a fight for the road, it is bad enough now trying to navigate abandoned work vehicles left on Fort Road and Haslar Road. Haslar is a to Heritage area and a conservation area is it obvious from driving past the structure on a daily basis that no thought has been given to this. No thought has been given whatsoever to local residents a lot of whom are elderly who will have to contend with the extra noise both day and night, including night time lightening , noise from both staff and detainee's on a full time basis. The fact that some of them could be released on immigration bail is an even bigger worry especially for lone female. Three story building was not on the cards for the original application and yet you feel because you are the government you are entitled to plow on and do this, if this was a local home owner who had changed their original application they would have been told to tear it down. So much for a democracy we are becoming more like George Orwell's 1981 every day, ie some of us are equal but some are more equal then others. Do I wish to be invited to one of your meeting, no it would be a waste of expensive petrol, as the outcome is already a forgone conclusion.
