There are a number of reasons for my objection, some personal, others environmental, and finally the lack of government transparency. This application fails to demonstrate grounds sufficient to waive Green Belt protections. Furthermore, it will be seriously detrimental to the quality of life of many people in the local area, knowing that people are detained in such a facility.

I am concerned about both the irreparable harms caused by immigration detention, and the encroachment upon Green Belt land. Immigration detention causes serious harm to detainees, and their families, communities, and local health and legal services are left with the consequences and to pick up the pieces. As a startup business owner and prospective tenant at the Oxford Technology Park, I am gravely concerned about the proposed expansion of Campsfield House detention center, which lies immediately next to the Park.
