Results per page 25 | 50 | 100I actively oppose the expansion of the Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre. Expanding the detention estate is proven not to increase removals. According to a report from Scottish Detainee Visitors, one of the government's key purposes of detention is to remove people from the UK, but in 2024 only 43% of people leaving detention were returned, a fact which has been under 50% since 2015. I believe the expansion will just act to further traumatise people and cost taxpayers money that does not ... Read more

Dear Planning Inspectorate, I am writing to object to the proposed expansion of Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre. The application reference is CROWN/2026/0000004. I object because the proposal would more than double the size of Campsfield, from 160 to 400 places, on Green Belt land. I am concerned that the expansion would make the site more built-up, harm the openness of the Green Belt, and add pressure to local roads, services and infrastructure. The Home Office has not clearly sh... Read more

Dear Planning Inspectorate, I am writing to object to the proposed expansion of Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre. The application reference is CROWN/2026/0000004. I'm strongly opposed to this proposal because the majority of refugees and migrants are ordinary people seeking safety and security, and detention is therefore a completely inappropriate response to their needs. People seeking sanctuary should be treated with respect and dignity, instead, countless studies show that in... Read more

Dear Planning Inspectorate I write to express my objection to the proposed expansion of Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre. The application reference is CROWN/2026/0000004. I object because the proposal would almost treble the size of Campsfield, from 160 to 400 places, on Green Belt land. I am concerned that the expansion would make the site more built up, harm the openness of the Green Belt, and add pressure to local roads, services and infrastructure. The Home Office has not... Dear Planning Inspectorate, I wish to register my objection to the proposed expansion of Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre (application reference: CROWN/2026/0000004). I object because the proposal is to increase the size of the centre from 160 to 400 places – an increase of more than double – on Green Belt land. Such an increase, making the site more built-up, would both harm the openness of the Green Belt and add pressure to the already existing local infrastructure, like roads... Read more

Dear Planning Inspectorate, I am writing to object to the proposed expansion of Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre. The application reference is CROWN/2026/0000004. There are a number of reasons for my objection, some personal, others environmental, and finally the lack of government transparency. On the personal level, I visited Campsfield detainees over a ten-year period from 2005 through 2015 and witnessed the detrimental effects that prolonged detention inflicts on individuals... Read more

Dear Planning Inspectorate, I am writing to object to the proposed expansion of Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre. The application reference is CROWN/2026/0000004. I also object because the proposal would more than double the size of Campsfield, from 160 to 400 places, on Green Belt land. I am concerned that the expansion would make the site more built up, ... This application fails to demonstrate grounds sufficient to waive Green Belt protections. Furthermore, it will be seriously detrimental to the quality of life of many people in the local area, knowing that people are detained in such a facility.
