Dear Planning Inspectorate, I wish to register my objection to the proposed expansion of Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre (application reference: CROWN/2026/0000004). I object because the proposal is to increase the size of the centre from 160 to 400 places – an increase of more than double – on Green Belt land. Such an increase, making the site more built-up, would both harm the openness of the Green Belt and add pressure to the already existing local infrastructure, like roads... Read more

Dear Planning Inspectorate, I am writing to object to the proposed expansion of Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre. The application reference is CROWN/2026/0000004. There are a number of reasons for my objection, some personal, others environmental, and finally the lack of government transparency. On the personal level, I visited Campsfield detainees over a ten-year period from 2005 through 2015 and witnessed the detrimental effects that prolonged detention inflicts on individuals... Read more

Dear Planning Inspectorate, I am writing to object to the proposed expansion of Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre. The application reference is CROWN/2026/0000004. This application fails to demonstrate grounds sufficient to waive Green Belt protections. Furthermore, it will be seriously detrimental to the quality of life of many people in the local area, knowing that people are detained in such a facility.

Dear Planning Inspectorate, I am writing to object to the proposed expansion of Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre. The application reference is CROWN/2026/0000004. I object because the proposal would more than double the size of Campsfield, from 160 to 400 places, on Green Belt land. The Home Office have stated the land “should be treated as grey belt” but it isn’t and proper Green Belt testing must be met on uses of and expansion upon the land. The Home Office has not evidenced suff... Read more
