If I have to explain the concerns that Gosport residents have over the haslar detention centre it shows how out of touch the government are. All I will say is, let’s put the scheme in the hands of local people and vote on whether the expansion should go ahead. Our concerns are clearly about the worry of unvetted illegal people being in our communities. In addition the infrastructure of Gosport does not lend its self to such a large facility, traffic is already a major issue for Gosport residents. Without train links motorists trying to commute to work will suffer much more. Do the right thing and stop this expansion going ahead. I would be happy to attend any meetings regarding this.
