I am astonished by the exorbitant amount of money,spent,on a facility that was open only 10 years ago,to detain people,that are to be returned anyway. In addition,£45 Million??a year,for security,of 160 criminals/failed asylum seekers. The facility boasts extensive leisure, Dental,healthcare, rehabilitation, educational,legal and housing,that the residents of Gost,the most deprived area of Hampshire,could only dream of having access to . Gosport is a poor, deprived, underfunded, financially starved,area.How is it possible,that over £100 Million was found,to house and detain, people who aren't fit to stay,so are being forced to leave,the Country.It is financial suicide. Those detained,will not be contained within the Detention Centre, simply because there is a high wall,and security. Every, vehicle,that enters that facility,is a means by which,those detained,can leave.Their freedom,is always going to be at the forefront,and it is well documented,how easily they can break into,and hide inside almost any vehicle,very successfully, without detection. The beautiful, historic,Haslar community,that is opposite the Detention Centre,is already compromised,values have plummeted,and their lives changed irrevocably,and even more so,if the planning officers, override the original agreement,NOT,to build up,and do so anyway. The money being spent,has to stop.The continual noise and disruption to all who live nearby,has to stop.The over the top, luxury,and endless, additional facilities,has to stop.The outrageous proposed,£45, Million security budget,has to be totally revised.It is a disgusting amount of money. We understand that holding centres are required.However,the luxury,the money spent,when the national debt,is at an all time high,is unacceptable. If someone has exhausted all the legal,"free" legal avenues,then why oh why,are they being kept,to the tune of, what £1 million,per person?for a 2 week detention, before being removed,is not acceptable. Overriding promises made to the people of Gosport,in the initial planning consent,is not acceptable. Regards ██████
