I am totally opposed to the three storey high buildings that are now being built in the Haslar Immigration Removal Centre. The original plans did not mention the buildings being built were to be three storeys high, this should have been put to the Gosport Borough Council for approval and I think it’s a total miss use of power, to inflict this on the residents my neighbours, without getting the approval from our elected Council first. With the current shortage of prison cells, I fail to understand why Haslar could not be used to house lesser hardened criminals instead, if you are removing them why do you need such a large establishment, remove them in smaller groups, at least then it will show the public you mean to remove them not just keep them for any length of time.
