My objection is to the increase in numbers to be detained leading to a new extension plan because the new extension means the addition of three storey buildings. These are not compatible with this historic site. The extra height means not only are these top floors visible to residents and visitors to this area, but they will also overlook private residences and those walking along the sea wall. Although additional parking space is in the new plan, there will always be lots of extra traffic in an old, narrow road when solicitors, family, etc., visit the detainees There will be more traffic as there is an inadequate bus provision. At present the builders illuminate the area at night causing light pollution in a quiet residential area. I suspect security lights will continue when detainees are resident and will be more noticeable with the taller buildings. This enlarged plan means the whole site will be more obtrusive in what has been a quiet location with sea views.
