Dear Sirs, I write to strongly object to the plans for the Haslar IRC Centre and the way it is being handled by the Home Office. It’s blatant attempt to bypass the local council and the residents of Gosport Borough entirely by submitting it’s heavily redacted / confidential plans directly to The Planning Inspectorate under the guise of National Importance is quite frankly shameful, but sadly is everything we have learned to expect from the Home Office as it tries to hide the truth of its actions / costs with ███████ immigration and all the problems it is causing. From the initial plans for the site to nearly 3 years later, there has been continual and very expensive work going on at the site, blighting residents’ lives and the plans now to vastly increase the scale of the works, including 3 storey accommodation ( which was never discussed ) and which will result in rooms overlooking local housing.. To rub salt into the wounds, these detained ████████ will have access to better healthcare and brand new facilities, far more than many residents of our small town can obtain.. The site will be a 24 / 7 site with movements all throughout this time with no concern for locals, local roads and car parks have just been acquired and clearly the Home Office rely on their financial muscle and a vast team of legal experts to bully and ride roughshod over many towns and now sadly, Gosport joins that list where locals come second to ███████ immigrants. I hope that someone at the Planning Inspectorate will actually look into this matter themselves before just ticking a box, maybe talk with our council or even our MP, Caroline Dineage on this, but fear that none of this will happen. Sincereley, K.P.Mizen.
