I strongly oppose the Crown development plans for the Haslar Immigration Removal Centre . My objections are as follows The building of huge , tall accomodation blocks are literally neighbouring the residents of Fort Road. Just metres away from their homes. No thought seems to have been given to the appalling and detrimental effect that this will have on their lives. These residents lives will be one intolerable. They are now prisoners in their own homes. Decisions seem to be taken by ministers and others sitting in their offices in London. Drawing plans on paper have no emotional consequences and don't show what the true effect will have on the residents. Their lives, as every one is entitled to, are completely destroyed. Even if they decided to move away they can't. Their homes are unsaleable. I strongly suggest these planners and decision makers organise a trip to the Haslar site and see for themselves and put themselves in the residents shoes and listen to the residents.
