The plans have been significantly amended from the public consultation and have increased to three stories rather than two, the information we were provided with is not what the plans are now. How can this be considered acceptable? No local decision for the area, as the final decision will be decided by the government planning inspectorate who are obviously in favour and will not be adversely affected as the local people will be - again how is this acceptable? The immigration Centre car park will be next to our homes and the amount of traffic/road noise will increase tenfold with employees and visitors. The noise levels from 600 people held on site im sure will not be insignificant, the site before held less than 200 people. We have currently had building/heavy machinery ruining the highway and creating building noise during the day for the last two years and could be another two to three years if stage two goes ahead. The plans seem also to include felling trees and removing vegetation which houses wildlife, although the land next to the car park will be left to overgrow onto residents property. What will be done to limit the light pollution for the car park and site for local residents and the cctv cameras will be watching site but also overlooking the properties behind? The ridiculous amount it has cost so far will be enough to anger most tax payers. The building conpany have redone several tasks including roofing and there seems to be an open cheque book. The second phase I presume would cost even more so the overall cost will be extortionate and money could be put towards other things. Any chance of selling the house and moving to another area is pretty much a pipe dream as no one seems to want to move into what is currently a massive building site which could continue for another few years and now will possibly be a IRC holding nearly four times the people it was originally built for. The first phase is not yet completed, no-one has seen how the local area/environment will be affected with just 130 people no matter what will be happening with 600 plus staff and visitors.. In my opinion phase 2 and the increase of inmates from 130 to 600 plus 414 staff operating 24/7 within a confined residential area is a gross overdevelopment of a site that since its inception 225 years ago has never accommodated circa. 190 maximum.
