I do not agree with the plan to expand upon this site. This is a beautiful area that people enjoy walking along the sea wall. It is over development of the site. The other buildings were existing so I don't object to that. I understand the need to accommodate these individuals but what security measures are going to be put in place to reassure the local residents? Why not hold a planning meeting where residents can attend to gauge the response and seek reassurance. Driving through this area at present is difficult enough due to all of the contractors parking on both sides of the road. I feel the way this was done was very underhand by not going through gosport borough council planning application process. You stress it is of national importance but behaviour like this is why people become so disillusioned with politics. I also do not feel it is a good use of tax payers money.
