Gosport is an extremely important part of this country's heritage. Gosport houses our wonderful naval communities and was an essential part of the D Day landings when brave British and Canadian troups left Stokes Bay, in many cases never to return home. These events and so many deserve to be respected and the area needs to be maintained as a heritage site for the present and the future. There is a heritage coastal walk, passing at the back of the Haslar site. The buildings will be three stories, clearly visible from all angles. We need the homes to be provided by the redevelopment of Fort Blockhouse. Already the roads have been destroyed by the constant use of the area by huge plant material and lorries. The car park for the Contractors has destroyed a beautiful and important site for local flora and fauna. Unsightly and destroying a beautiful untouched area. Who would care to visit an area that is mostly car park. The sea wall is a vantage point for so many people. An important aid for mental health and physical health. I have absolutely no idea how the roads will be able to sustain the extra vehicles. Already they are crossing the small bridge from Gosport. This bridge cannot sustain use for years to come by huge vehicles which will be sent via the bridge from Sat Navs. How costly will repairs to roads and this bridge be for Gosport Councils? I also wonder where the Health provision will be for the inmates? I struggle to get a Doctors appointment and do not have a NHS dentist. Is there a suggestion that the inmates of this building will be given easy access to resources that I have been able to access at all. There is also an CMOD base nearby. Where is the security for this facility? Where is the security for local people? Who will run the massive oversized builsing an secure the area. There is also the suggestion of a prison at this site. Is this an underhand way of imposing a building on an area without any consultation? We had no consultation. We had no information. This feels like an example of the Home Office over-ruling local peoples rights. I object with no reservation to the massive extension to what has been a local provision of service. We have happily lived alongside the existing building but this is now beyond understanding. I object to the secrecy and the underhand method of installing a change of use with no regard for local communities. This is not sustainable. I object.
