I would like to object to the upscaling of building at the Haslar, Gosport IRC complex to see total number of alien males from foreign countries to be quadrupled to become potentially a 600 beds facility. Why is this supposed temporary rapid transit camp to eject these illegal foreign aliens being kitted out with restaurants, doctor and dentist practices, multi faith centres, sports facilities etc. surely this decision will not have the effect to deter entry but rather encourage further entry by these unwanted persons. It has not been made clear if this a secure prison complex where there is no way these illegal aliens will be permitted to leave this secure structure. It is causing concern to all residents who live near by in the light of media coverage appearing in other areas of this country where it is stated males from similar centres leave centres and go out to commit major crimes to our nations public in particular young girls, women, old persons, families with crimes including rape, sexual assaults, attacks with knives and swords. It is a recipe for disaster and I say this as a police officer and detective in Hampshire for 30 years. It is causing unnecessary public alarm and distress It is deplorable this complex is being allowed to continue, it is like a runaway train. Following secret meetings behind locked doors of Gosport Council when even our elected MP Caroline Dinage was excluded to the now total removal of our rights to question or represent our community since the directive has been passed to the Home Office, as if this is a done deal. We live and work here, and have not taken kindly to the relentless thunder of construction trucks rolling in and out of this complex from 6 am until evening every day causing further traffic challenges to the local populous who already have a hard time trying to navigate their way out and into Gosport on few main roads. I would definitely wish to attend any public hearing on this where perhaps we will see some transparency and honesty for a change.
