I object to the proposed expansion plans for the Haslar IRC. The new/updated plans are not in keeping with the area which is predominantly a quiet residential area of Gosport. Furthermore the scale of the proposed expansion is too large with 3 storey buildings and large recreational areas. The area of the sea wall is used by locals for walking and this will now make this feel unsafe. Surely a removal centre should not have access to better resources for health and recreation than for the local community? The increased traffic will lead to more traffic congestion on our already crowded 2 roads in and out of the peninsula (the largest town in England without a railway station) and subsequent pollution (air, noise, light). The land in this part of Gosport would be far better used for much needed housing and community services.
