The fact something has been taken out of the locals hands is disgusting. We have no issue it being opened up again and used correctly. What we disagree with is building it larger than it needs to be we are a small town, the infrastructure is all ready struggling, house prices are dropping. Locals already have issues with parking ect. My main concern is our military base is now going to sit on high alert, and military families and personnel are going to be possibly the unsafest people here. Not to mention, this is being paid by whom? Are they allowed out? Are any jobs going to be offered to the locals? The local grassroots football, may lose out on playing games with other clubs due to the pitch being just meters away from the site. You have already taken the car park away. So the street and side streets are busy every weekend from September. When an idea from someone who dose not live within an area over rules those who do. Its a lazy unthought about idea. Why should one little town take on the responsibility of the outside idiocy of those who have no clue. Why not just build other immigration centres, you have many unused areas and spaces. Why overload an already over crowded peninsula town? I could say a lot more but ill hold my tongue.
