Amnesty International UK is not seeking to attend a hearing though we are willing to if asked to do so. We object to the proposal which is simply not justified by the reasons given for it. We have explained this by analysis for what is said in favour of the development against what is and has long been clear from information in the public domain about the routine, arbitrary and excessive use of immigration detention. This is set out in the written submission we provide.
