I strongly object to the buildings proposed for 470 more immigrants to be housed on the second phase of the IRC Haslar in Gosport. This is a residential area and my garden ████████████████████, surely there should be a fair distance between the perimeter and housing?!? The value of our properties will drop dramatically and may even fail to sell at all. I am also very close to the boatyard which they propose to use as the main gate for construction vehicles and materials which would mean constant noise and dust day after day month after month. I strongly object to the proposed 3 storey buildings, I would see straight into these buildings from my house and inmates would be able to look into our houses and gardens. If it was completed there would be constant disruption from vehicles going to and from the centre, deliveries of food and goods, rubbish removal plus daily inmates coming and going and also the staff needed would be passing constantly 24 hours a day. The security lights would be a nuisance along with security sirens that will be sounded. Why is there talk of immigration bail, we were told none of them would be allowed out, as █████ year old widow, I am terrified of the thought of that. I have lived here for 50 years my husband was a Prison Officer here for 30 years. The centre was NEVER a problem and the refurbishment of phase one was to be expected and accepted. What we STRONGLY object to is phase 2, this is too big for a residential area that sits on its border. It’s too close and too big, it must not be allowed.
