I am a local resident and live near to the Haslar IRC. I am realistic enough to know that it is too late to halt the expansion of Haslar IRC site which I object to. I also believe that based on the past 3 years experience that the Home Office has a complete disregard for the views of the local residents. We have already endured over 3 years of disruption, noise, dust, dirt, parking issues, damage to local roads and lack of information. I strongly object to the planned height of the 4 new accomodation blocks proposed in this planning application. This is a coastal residential area and 3 storey accomodation blocks will dominate the coastal skyline. Although there is already a 3 storey heritage building on the original site it is in keeping with otherlocal Gosport heritage buildings. Modern 3 storey buildings are not. Also they will overlook houses and back gardens in Fort Road invading the privacy of Fort Road residents. There is a lack of public transport in this area. It is served by one bus route which consists of 4 buses a day. The first bus is at 10am and the last bus at 3.10pm.
