I am objecting to scaling this facility to 600 beds before the initial 130 bed phase has been opened and operationally tested. The 3 storey accommidation blocks are significantly taller than historic local structures and harm the character of the area. Gosport is a peninsula and does not have the infrastructure to cope with the traffic & parking that will be needed for this many staff. This is a loss of potential local housing and affordable homes on a site desperately needed for community supply. Expanding the site to 600 beds relies on administrative incarceration rather than proven, practical removal capabilities. Finally, I object to the use of the Crown Development process to bypass Gosport Borough Council and local democratic representation.
