I am writing as a local resident to express my concerns regarding the proposed accommodation centre being developed near my home. As a parent of two young children, my family’s safety is my highest priority. I am worried about the impact this development may have on our local community and, in particular, whether appropriate safeguarding, security, and management measures will be in place. Living so close to the site has left me feeling anxious, and I do not feel reassured that local family’s safety has been fully considered. I understand that people seeking accommodation may come from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances. However, I believe local residents deserve clear information about the purpose of the centre, who will be accommodated there, what security arrangements will be in place, and how any issues or incidents will be managed. I would also like to know what consultation has taken place with local residents before this decision was made. Many people in the community feel that their views and concerns have not been properly heard. I respectfully ask the council to reconsider the location of this facility or, at the very least, provide greater transparency and reassurance regarding the measures that will be implemented to protect local residents and maintain public safety. I would appreciate a response addressing these concerns and explaining how the council intends to ensure the safety and wellbeing of families living nearby.
