I would like to attend a hearing. Height Scale and Heritage The plans include four three storey accommodation blocks reaching up to 12 metres, originally meant to be two storey. Loss of privacy for the houses on Fort Road, as they are higher than them and too close to the road opposite to where the majority of houses are situated. Regeneration Taking account of further development at: ex Royal Hospital Haslar (RHH) QinetiQ (building of houses) Opposite Main Entrance to RHH Fort Blockhouse up for sale Fort Road Development, almost opposite the Institute of Naval Medicine (INM) - 60 Bed Care Home to be built and 16 Houses Once they are completed, probably after the IHC Development is completed, the traffic situation is likely to be horrendous. Transport and Access The expansion could generate around 774 vehicle movements each day, many of which are likely to be lorries, which is totally unacceptable. With such narrow roads and the traffic being bad enough now, it would make living in Clayhall Road and Fort Road even more of a nightmare. For the last 3 years the traffic has become much worse and living ██████████████████████████████████████████████████████ the parking is very frustrating. The residents of Clayhall Road have no drives, so reliant on parking on the the road. Despite IHC having its own car park, recently purchased from Gosport Borough Council, it is rarely full as personnel/contractors prefer to park nearer to where they work. It is a daily ongoing battle and likely to get worse as the development progresses and the many permanent staff (over 500) start joining. There is likely to be gridlock on the Gosport Penisula before too long. For info, there are 4 buses a day around Clayhall Road and Fort Road between 10am and 3.10pm, Noise and Night and Early Morning Activity Confirmation in the Application that people may arrive, leave or be released at any time of day or night, will result in disturbance from vehicles, engines, doors, lighting, security activity, staff movements and coach use, is of great concern to the nearby residents. It is hoped that the local residents will not be disturbed by numerous tannoy announcements and regular audible calls to prayer, as appropriate. Immigration-Bail Releases Immigration bail is now the most common reason for people leaving detention. How will they leave the site on bail and could they remain in Gosport and free to roam? Security Living so close to the IHC, the local residents have already started to feel vulnerable, and hope that security is one of the many top priorities. For information, the street lights in Clayhall Road go out at midnight until 5am.
